Usage: Antiseptic, antispasmodic, antibacterial, deodorant, diaphoretic, diuretic, emmenagogue, fungicidal, stomachic, and tonic. With its powerful lemon-like aroma, citronella is a familiar component in outdoor sprays as a natural insect repellent and is used in sprays, soaps, and candles. Astringent and cleansing, citronella is also useful for oily, blemished skin and large pores. It can be irritating, so be sure to dilute properly. 

Blends well with: Bergamot, Orange, Cedarwood, Geranium, Lemon, Lavender, and Pine.

Citronella oil is derived from tall (around 3ft), perennial grass. Native to Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Java, the plant is grown in hot-weather climates. The amount of oil the plants contain is determined by the age of the grass. Younger plants contain less, while the more mature grass contains more oil. Fresh grass also contains more oil than dry grass.
